| • How long does it take to upload a file? |
Uploading of images depends on image size and your internet connection however, shouldn't take longer than a few minutes.
| • Have loaded up two images, one does not have a thumbnail, does this mean I did something wrong? |
If the file does not comply with the requirements it will not load to the system and there will be no thumbnail showing.
Images have to be saved in jpg format and named correctly using only letters, numbers and under scores; any other symbols will cause the upload to fail.
| • How do I delete a photo I have uploaded and add a new one? |
Please log in using your name and password and check the images you have already uploaded. On the next page (click ‘Continue’) you’ll have 2 options, either to delete an image or replace it with another.
Bear in mind that once you pay for your submission, the images get locked and you will not be able to make any changes.
• I am unable to register. This is my second year applying- so my details may be stored from last year.
When I try to register, and fill in all my details, the next page asks for name and password, and then says 'invalid password'. |
You have to register on the site with your details in the first stage of the submission.
Once you register, you will be able to log on again using your name and your nominated password (password can be any number of letters and/or numeric characters) to check on your entries.
| • I have received emails from head on does this mean I am registered to enter? |
No, you have to register on the Head On website as part of the process of submission by entering your contact details.
| • I have submitted a photo and paid the entry fee. I have gone to submit another photo the next day and it wants to charge me for both photos even though I have already paid for the first one. How do I get around this problem? |
We are fixing this bug which occurs with some browsers and hope it will be fixed by the beginning of the week.
We apologise for the inconvenience; please try again next week.
| • I have tried several times to upload my photo. In the "image uploader" screen the little whirly sign comes up to say that something is happening, but even if I wait 15mins or more, no thumbnail comes up. Is the image uploaded? |
When Images are loaded to the server successfully, you get to see a thumbnail of the image and a message indicating it's done. The 2 reasons the process is not successful are: the file name has 'illegal' charaters (space and symbols other than letters, numbers and under score) or the file format is other than JPG.
• I uploaded and paid previously for one image.
I would like to upload another image however the system asks me to pay for both the new one and the previous one which I have paid for already. |
We have been working on fixing this bug however it still occurs in some cases.
To work around the problem you could register again using a different password and then upload the second image.
If this does not work please let us know.
| • I'm trying to submit entries, but I'm prevented because I don't have a mobile phone? What can I do about it? |
Please enter your landline number again.
Please note, you cannot have any symbols other than numbers and under score (no spaces allowed).
| • My login doesn't work and I get this error when I try to use the forget password field, any ideas? |
You have to register on the site with your details in the first stage of the submission.
Once you register, you will be able to log on again to check on your entries.
| • When uploading images I do not get the thumbnails to confirm receipt, I just get the blue questiono mark. Does it mean that the images have not uploaded? |
If the iamges are loaded correctly, you will see a thumbnail of your image and a message next to it informing you that the upload has been successful.
| • Why does the message "non-numeric number" keep coming up when i try and fill out my details in the phone and mobile columns? |
The system checks that you enter only numbers into the phone/mobile fields.
The legal characters are numbers and dashes. You cannot have spaces.
A Sydney number will be entered as 02-91234567.
