Disappearers

Gippsland Art Gallery, Sale. 14 November to 24 January 2009

Disappearers assembles a cast of eight artists: Alistair Dickinson [WA], Simryn Gill [NSW], Annie Hogan [QLD], Mark Kimber [SA], Richard Lipp [VIC], Kenneth Pleban [VIC], Izabela Pluta [NSW] and Juha Tolonen [WA], to explore the absent figure in contemporary photography. Haunting, disquieting and spectral, these photographs force us to confront vacant space and consider our relationship with the environment.
