Aimee Sluga wins the Silk Road Youth International Photography Competition at Photo Bejing

As part of a new partnership with Photo Beijing, students who enter the Head On Student Prize are also eligible to enter their image into the Silk Road Youth International Photography Competition. Finalists are exhibited as part of Photo Beijing – an exhilarating opportunity for our younger photographers.

The inaugural winner under our new partnership is Australian student Aimee Sluga who also won the Head On Student Prize 2019. Her dedication to documenting a difficult moment in her family history in such a touching manner impressed both judging panels.

Aimee and her mother travelled to Beijing as part of her prize package.

The Silk Road Youth International Photography Competition aims to bring together young photographers from different regions to witness, document and contribute to their own community. The theme for 2019 was Home.

More details about the 2020 competition will be available in the coming weeks.
