Calling volunteers looking for experience, contacts and discounted or free entry to festival events!
Volunteer positions are currently available for people interested in gaining experience and networking opportunities during the Festival.
We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers ready to assist in areas where help is most needed. In return for useful periods of your time, discounts are available for selected Head On workshops and talks, including the portfolio review session, as well as entry to the event you are donating time to.
Head On is not just about supporting photographers; it’s about nurturing the variety of talent needed in an industry that can be hard to break into.
We are looking for volunteers to:
- Assist with general exhibition intallation.
- Install an exhibition at The Muse, TAFE. This would suit people who want to be trained in installing photographic and paper-based artworks. A professional Installer with 12 years experience will train you. We would prefer people who are available for two days minimum. Dates: Tuesday 14 May – Friday 17 May.
- Help manage the Portfolio Review Session by taking registrations, welcoming people, checking payments, assisting reviewers and generally ensuring the day runs smoothly. Date: Monday 20 May 10:00-16:00, Library Seminar Rooms, TAFE.
- Assist at the Head On Festival opening at Turner Hall at Ultimo TAFE by welcoming and directing guests as needed. Date: Friday 17 May 18:00 – 20:00, TAFE.
- Gallery minding.
- Event photographers and videographers.
