Sun, 05/15/2011 - Sat, 05/28/2011

Exhibition Description

The series is an exploration of life in one of the many tent cities that house over 1.5 million internally displaced people in Port Au Prince, Haiti. In these camps I found families doing their best to provide for each other, to help their friends and families.

Their human experience is just like yours or mine, they suffer and rejoice as a community and hope to have a loving and healthy family and to better their situation. But their story is set in the paradigm of extreme suffering, heart ache and poverty, while we are truly born the lucky ones.

Dates of Exhibition:
Sun, 05/01/2011 - Sat, 05/14/2011

Exhibition Description

Postcards from Home revolves around my domestic life and especially focuses on my two daughters Uma & Yali growing up.

After several nomadic years, we migrated to Australia in 2008. It was with the restrictions of our migration process (keeping me from professional photography and travel) that home life became my only consistent opportunity to photograph and the project was born.

As I witness my daughter’s transformation in what feels like the briefest of moments I’m compelled to preserve something of our time living together.

This body of work is about the way we choose to live. It is an exploration of the disparity between the built environment and the natural environment and the tension and relationship between the two, with humanity standing in the crosshairs.

This is a view from the outside. A step back from the melee and a stark observation of the bizarre realities we have forged for ourselves that dictate our pathways of interaction. The architecture of leisure.

Sun, 05/01/2011 - Sat, 05/14/2011

Exhibition Description

Hellfire is a visual document of the clientele of The Hellfire Club Sydney. It is the nightclub that started as a home for freaks, weirdo’s and the straight voyeurs who like to watch. It has become synonymous with kink, fetish and BDSM not only to the patrons who have attended it since its auspicious beginnings, but also in wider society. It is now a recognised brand name.

The patrons are photographed in their homes and the work playfully portrays an “us and them” scenario. It helps us explore who we are and how do we fit in.
