Debate: Does photojournalism facilitate or counteract 'fake news'?

Journalist Alison Steiven-Taylor has posed the questions:

Is the old adage, “seeing is believing” still true?

Do you think people trust a photograph as evidence?
Is there a need to be more transparent in revealing the stories behind the taking of photographs?
How do we counter the issue of photographs being misappropriated and then used with new captions or headlines to promote a different agenda? What can photojournalists do to try and protect their work?
Does the authenticity and authority of the photojournalist still carry weight?

Speakers Brian Cassey, Maggie Steber, Natan Dvir and others discuss these questions. Join the discussion - questions and opinions welcome!
