ivy jean, Julieanne Bartolo & Katherine Kennedy
TAP Gallery : Gallery 1
ivy jean is a Blue Mountains artist working with digital, vintage, plastic and DIY film cameras in her photography.
Her current work has been described as impressionistic photography, as she captures her subject with undefined lines or in pixelated splendour.
This exhibition showcases a selection of her pinhole photographs and surreal landscapes.
Julieanne Bartolo is a Sydney based artist, working predominately in the unique medium of body paint photography and man-made installation.
Each artwork captures stillness, freedom as the brave model overcomes their confrontation with baring it all in front of the camera and their surroundings.
She paints her models by hand, enabling her to become part of the process whilst connecting with her muse. She feels satisfaction when her model is successfully enwrapped and hidden in the backdrop.
Katherine Kennedy is a Lower Blue Mountains interdisciplinary artist who pushes her work into uncharted territories in order to establish the best fit outcome for her concept. This current work incorporates her facial tissue sculptures, wearable art, found domestic items, digital TV failure (pixels) and the figure. The overriding concept in these works is in embracing failure in both a relationship sense and domestic perfection and the inevitable scaring or self-identity issues which ensue.
