Nebuli Arts: Susan Buchanan, Jan Glover, Carolyn Pettigrew & Shirley Steel.

Photography is often explained as the capture of a moment in time when in reality it is the capture of light in time.

“Look at light and admire its beauty. Close your eyes, and then look again: what you saw is no longer there, and what you will see later is not yet.” (Leonardo da Vinci)

Within the exhibition, Velatino: A Light Veil, the light may illuminate or it may obscure; it may show you the familiar in unfamiliar ways or bring unique insights. Photography can be a keeper of secrets intended for the viewer to unveil.

The Nebuli Arts Group of Photographic Artists has established a distinctive presence in Sydney and the wider arts community. The Group is composed of diverse artists who, using a combination of traditional and digital techniques, are united in making a high level and unique contribution to the general visual culture.

Susan Buchanan: the marriage of art and craft and vision and technique, gives Susan an opening to present herself to the world.

Jan Glover: loves the challenge of capturing images from the natural environment, especially landscapes and patterns from nature.

Carolyn Pettigrew: is passionate about taking themes from nature conservation into her imagery, handcrafting both digital and alternative photographic prints.

Shirley Steel: Dabbling in a range of genres, Shirley’s true joy is found in a more abstract, impressionistic style.
