The wheat pile | Head On Photo Festival

The wheat pile

Photographer's Name:
Noni Carroll

I am the official photographer for Moorambilla Voices which draws it's students from many regions of western and north western NSW. Last year I led a photographic mentoring tour with three young indigenous photographers from western NSW to showcase the vastness of theMoorambilla area. Often, in a bumper crop year, the silos fill up and overflow wheat gets dumped onto the ground and covered with tarps. Heading into Nyngan on a 40 degree day, despite the heat, I saw a man walking on the tarp of the wheat pile and leapt out of the car to take this.
