‘Traces in the Landscape: On the Edge of Greta’ is a project by Vivienne Dadour conceived as a photographic archaeological investigation of a site near Greta, Upper Hunter Valley, NSW; formerly used as an army camp and later as a centre for migrant resettlement (1939-59).

Dadour’s images visually engage with and document the various remnants and traces of occupation still present in the surviving landscape. She captures a sense of both presence and absence through her series of photo based diptychs based on a stereoscopic format. This form of forensic art making provides evidence of connections and fragmentations to the past.
