Exposed is a first of its kind exhibition, revealing the work of contemporary Australian women and NB street photographers by feature artists of the Unexposed Collective. The exhibition provides a unique look at Australian life through the eyes of talented street photographers with an eye for the candid, the curious, the beautiful and the unusual moments in everyday life. This group exhibition is presented by Julia Coddington and Rebecca Wiltshire, the co-founders of the Unexposed Collective. Curation of the final exhibited collection was completed with the assistance of internationally recognised Dutch street photographer, Julie Hrudova. The Unexposed Collective provides a platform to showcase the work of Australian women and NB street photographers. Members include experienced and internationally recognised street photographers as well as new and emerging street photographers. Unexposed is a response to the domination of the male voice in street photography. As a kind of anti-collective, it is non-elitist and non-hierarchical. It reflects the founders’ concerns that as street photography grows in popularity, women are not left behind, either as a consequence of casual or institutional sexism or as a consequence of our own fears about putting our work and ourselves forward.
