I have asked myself over the years: where is my home and what is my community? to which, after a number of decades I can say I have finally found a place, a place to call home, a suburb, a village, a community called Glebe. For seven years in collaboration with Eulalie Moore we have been exploring this very idea of home through documenting its people. Steadily over this time we have come to know a wide range of its people, becoming close with some, and have been privileged to be allowed into their intimate spaces to photograph and share in their place and in their presence. In exhibiting these portraits we are adding to this dialogue an unfolding picture of a uniquely segmented community.
This exhibition centres on The Shop Gallery in the heart of Glebe, and extends to twenty more venues throughout the suburb. A map will be available to navigate the experience.
