News from Head On Photo Festival & Upcoming Sydney exhibitions

When we see our finalists and exhibitors doing well, we like to share the news!

Congratulations to Jeremy Blincoe for winning the photography prize at Fisher’s Ghost and the Brisbane Art Prize.

Congratulations are also in order for Raphaela Rosella, who has just won the PHM 2017 WOMEN PHOTOGRAPHERS GRANT. To read more about Women Photograph, check our latest blog.

Finally, César Dezfuli, is the winner of the Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize.

Lousia Seton, a Head On Photo Awards Finalist, is opening her exhibition MOJA AFRICA, an exhibition of fine Art photography.

‘MOJA AFRICA, the Swahili term for One Africa, is a powerful series of portraits, including timeless favourites and recent photographs from the Omo Valley, Ethiopia, that celebrate and explore community, female empowerment and adornment as self-expression. The collection highlights Louisa’s love for Africa and reveals the remarkable beauty of people truly engaged with their natural environment.’
OPENING Thursday 23rd November 6:30 – 9:30pm, on view 23rd November – 27th December. Totem Road – 188 Oxford St, Paddington, Sydney.

AFRIKA – THE WILD. Photographs by Ken and Michelle Dyball

This series, AFRIKA The Wild, is a collection of black & white, large format stills, depicting the majesty and rawness of this incredible land.

True adventurers and dedicated environmentalists, the Dyball’s have a unique connection to Africa – especially the Masai Mara in Kenya – as this has been their home for the last decade. Each year they return to Australia to visit family and are here now preparing for this show.
