Tully
Sally Mayman
portrait
Tully, from a series portraying adolescent boys on the cusp of manhood. The young men are surfers, sharing a physical and spiritual connection to the sea. It is their playground, a place to enjoy each other’s company, to relax, grow and develop. A tidal zone where saltwater ebbs and flows like the emotions of teenage boys. Confident, vulnerable, knowing, unknowing. Captured at dusk, when day greets night with an afterglow, a moment between. A geographical, emotional and physical shift between boundaries.
